Microsoft Excel Foundations

Recommended: Basic computer knowledge

Build Excel proficiency from the ground up in this hands-on course designed to develop confidence with spreadsheets and data management.

You’ll begin with the fundamentals, including spreadsheet terminology, data entry, editing, and formatting techniques that help organize information clearly and professionally. As the course progresses, you’ll expand your skills by working with formulas and functions, creating and customizing charts, and managing multiple worksheets and workbooks.

You will also learn how to work efficiently with lists and tables, apply advanced formatting features, and use Excel’s auditing and protection tools to maintain accuracy and reliability in your work.

Whether you are managing personal finances, tracking business data, or preparing reports, this course provides the practical foundation needed to make Excel work for you. It also serves as the first step toward earning the Microsoft Excel Associate credential.

Microsoft Excel Associate

Prerequisite: Successful completion of MCCC's Microsoft Excel Foundations course or at least one year of hands-on Excel experience.

Build on your existing Excel knowledge and develop the advanced skills needed to work confidently with data in professional environments. This course provides structured preparation for the Microsoft Excel Associate Certification Exam.

Participants will explore key topics such as managing worksheets and workbooks, creating and formatting tables, applying formulas and functions, and developing charts and objects. The course also introduces more advanced tools, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and Macros, with opportunities to practice these features through guided exercises and real-world data scenarios.

This course is designed for learners who have completed MCCC's Foundations in Microsoft Excel course or at least one year of hands-on Excel experience and wish to strengthen their skills in preparation for the Microsoft Excel Associate Certification Exam.
