Sophomore Stella Logan (Trenton, NJ/Allentown HS) was named the Region 19 Softball Player of the Year. Logan had an outstanding year and ranked among the top in the country in many offensive categories.
Logan was second in the nation in RBIs with 99 in 50 games. Logan led NJCAA DII softball in triples with 11 and was 5th in doubles with 26. Logan had 91 hits on the season, 7th best in the nation and scored 82 runs, 10th most in the country. Logan had a .532 batting average which was 8th best in the nation.
In addition to her tremendous offensive numbers this season were the defensive plays consistently made which prevented opponents from scoring runs and kept Mercer in every game they played.
Logan helped MCCC finish the season with a 43-7 record and come within one win of reaching the NJCAA World Series for the second consecutive season.
