The MCCC Athletic Department closed out the academic year with their Annual Student Athlete Awards’ Breakfast. The breakfast allows Mercer’s athletic teams to gather and be recognized for both their academic and athletic success. Over 200 awards were given out to Mercer’s student athletes who had one of the most successful years in MCCC’s history in terms of both academic and athletic success.
On the academic side, student athletes who earned All-Conference and All-Region All-Academic awards were recognized. To earn All-Conference All-Academic honors, student athletes needed a 3.0 or higher GPA for the Fall 2025 semester. All-Region All-Academic student athletes had a GPA of 3.2 or higher for the Fall 2025 semester.
Returning NJCAA Academic All-Americans were honored. To earn this honor, student athletes needed a GPA of 3.6 or higher for the 2024-2025 academic year along with having completed 24 or more credits. Four teams last year also earned NJCAA Academic All-American honors for having a team GPA of 3.0 and higher. These four teams were men’s and women’s soccer and men’s and women’s tennis.
On the athletic side, many awards were also given out. These awards included All-Conference and All-Region Team honors, Conference Player of the Week awards, Region Player of the Year winners and 5 NJCAA All-Americans (Adrian Garcia (Men’s Soccer), Daniel Garcia (Men’s Soccer), Rihanna Vincent (Women’s Soccer), Joell Idrovo (Men’s Basketball) and Qui-Mia Wilkins (Women’s Basketball).
Congratulations to all of Mercer’s student athletes who bring so much to the college both on and off the court and fields!
